Mae Bartley, 76, of Mullens, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at her home following a long illness.
Born March 5, 1933, in Lookout, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Wiley and Edna Dameron Sloan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, H.B., Alan and Charlie Sloan and two sisters, Louise Sloan and Lucille Polka.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 60 years, Fred Bartley; two daughters, Joyce Blankenship and her husband, Carson, of Prosperity and Tammy Buchanan and her husband, Virgil, of Mullens; two sisters, Emma Varney of Beckley and Susie Turner of Portsmouth, Va.; and one brother, Randolph “R.D.” Sloan of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Terri Roberts of Mullens, Derrick Buchannon of Prosperity and Joshua Buchanan of Mullens and three great-grandchildren, Coty, Tyler and Chase Roberts, all of Mullens.
