Linda Neely, age 65, of Blountville passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Linda attended Fountain of Life Church. She was employed at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center for 36 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a loved and respected friend of the Peacemakers MC, since its beginning in 1968.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Jim Neely; her parents, Samuel W. Hurt and Bobbie Kate Minor Hurt; sister, Billy Hurt Wall and brothers, Don Hurt and Sam Hurt, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Suthers Trent and husband Randy of Kingsport; son, Toby Suthers and wife Debi of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Devin Trent of Kingsport, Jessica Suthers of Virginia Beach, VA and Jacob Suthers of Kingsport; brothers, Gene Hurt and wife Gladys of Gate City, VA and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 starting at 1:00 PM at her home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kingsport Animal Shelter to honor Linda's love of animals.
The family would like to issue a special thank you to the staff of Kingsport Hemotology & Oncology, Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center Stepdown ICU and special friend, Dr. Bo Grover.
